Methyltributylammonium chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt that is used as a corrosion inhibitor and an additive in gasoline. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of the glycol ether transporters, P-gp, by binding to the ATP-binding site and blocking the transport of glycol ethers. Methyltributylammonium chloride has also been shown to exhibit hydrogen bonding with other molecules in solution.
